Joomla 1.6 includes a new feature called template styles. This gives you the ability to use a single template in many different ways by saving different sets of options as a style. Watch the Joomla 1.6 video on template styles to find out more.
Joomla 1.6 includes several new features for modules. You can time a module to be published between two dates, and you can set modules to be excluded from particular pages. Watch the Joomla 1.6 video on modules to find out more.
The Joomla 1.6 Adminstrator menu has undergone some changes. Users now has its own menu that includes adding groups and access levels for viewing content and other features have been moved around. Watch the Joomla 1.6 video on the Administator menu to find out more.

Andrea Tarr is the designer of the Hathor accessible Administrator template. Andrea got into computers when she was a librarian back in the late 70’s by taking home a self-study guide to the IBM System-32/34 and writing the first computerised circulation system in the state of New Hampshire. She currently works as an independent consultant and will shortly receive a Master of Science of Information Technology degree from the Marlboro College Graduate School so that she won't have to keep explaining why a Master of Library & Information Science degree is so valuable in the computer field.
The Hathor template layout is similar to the typical Administrator template but has been arranged to better suit screen readers.
Hathor includes a high-contrast mode for the visually impaired.
